Lately I’ve been nudged by a question I couldn’t ignore:

 

What exactly is my Higher Self?

Some may call it their Spirit or Soul, but for me, it felt like a distinct part of my spiritual makeup asking to be more fully seen and understood. It didn’t feel the same as my Akashic Records, the Divine, or my Highest Beings of Light.

 

So today, I opened my Records and asked:

 

• What is the Higher Self’s purpose?
• How does it function or manifest?
• How can I connect with it more intentionally?

 

Here’s what I received.

 

What Is the Higher Self?

 

Your Higher Self is a unique aspect of your Soul – the eternal part of you that continues across lifetimes.

 

When you incarnate, a portion of your Soul’s energy and your Akashic Records are downloaded into your physical form, specifically into what scientists call “junk DNA.” (It’s not junk at all – just not understood.)

 

Your Higher Self resides in this encoded essence. It’s always with you and can be a powerful ally for your spiritual practice, especially when consciously invited to support you.

 

A Quick Note: I’ve noticed that people can use Higher Self and Inner Divinity as if they mean the same thing. While they’re closely connected, my Records offered me a gentle distinction. The Higher Self is the part of your Soul that guides your evolution throughout your lifetimes. It’s always present, always wise. Your Inner Divinity, however, is the spark of the Divine within you, which is timeless, whole, and already at peace.

 

How the Higher Self Supports You

When you engage in spiritual practices, your Higher Self can:

 

• Prompt physical care – like encouraging you to stretch, move, or hydrate to stay strong and grounded.
• Heighten emotional awareness – helping you recognize which emotions need clearing or honoring.
• Sharpen mental focus – so you stay alert, present, and receptive to guidance.

 

And it can do so much more.

To get outside my head and explore this topic further, my Records prompted me to turn to the Akashic Illumination Deck and ask: 

 

“What else can my Higher Self do – for myself and perhaps for others?”

 

I requested a 3-card spread (one from each Akashic Activity), as suggested by my Records.

Card 1 – Akashic Symbol: Personal Trauma Clearing

 

This card surprised me – and also made perfect sense.

My Records shared that I can call on my Higher Self:

• Before or during a challenging event, to protect all levels of my being (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual).
  
• Afterward, to process and release any lingering detrimental energy so it doesn’t get trapped.

Rather than waiting to connect with my Records or the Divine, I could reach out directly to my Higher Self in real-time. This is especially powerful when paired with the symbol from this card. Simply visualizing and stepping into that symbol can support immediate energetic relief.

This is a shortcut I hadn’t considered before!

I left that card face up, and then asked my Records “Which of the two remaining Akashic Activity cards would be best to explore next?”

 

 

Card 2 – Akashic Infusion: Compassion

 

 

This Infusion felt like a healing balm.

 

I realized how deeply helpful it would be to be filled with Compassion during or after any traumatic or emotional event – not just for others, also for myself. My Higher Self can be a source of this overflowing compassion, opening the way for healing to begin.

 

I welcomed this Infusion into my heart and sat in gratitude with this gentle and powerful blessing.

 

When I felt complete, I opened to the remaining card

 

 

 

Card 3 – Akashic Exploration: Nature

 

This card reminded me that Nature itself can be an ally.

My Records highlighted how consciously connecting with the elements – Air, Water, Earth, Fire – supports healing on all levels:

• Breathe deeply if the air is clean.
• Hydrate with fresh water.
• Walk barefoot to connect with the Earth.
• Receive sunlight if available.

OR

• If none of these are available, deeply visualize doing each one. Your imagination is a powerful tool of your Soul!

When partnered with my Higher Self, these natural gifts become even more restorative. I can also help others connect with Mother Earth in this way – a beautiful way to serve and support them too.

This 3-card spread brought me fresh insights and a deeper understanding of how my Higher Self functions and supports me.

The Higher Self is not just a vague spiritual concept. It’s my wise and willing partner.
