What if one of the greatest spiritual skills isn’t learning how to do more . . . but learning how to receive more?

 

Last month, I shared some of the unexpected gifts I received during while facilitating Akashic Sessions at a spiritual Retreat in Portugal. The experience helped me release assumptions I didn’t even realize I was carrying and renewed my faith in humanity.

 

There was another experience waiting for me.

 

It began before I even arrived.

 

If you read my June post, “When the Divine Becomes Your Travel Agent,” you’ll remember the extraordinary series of events that made this journey possible. Everything seemed to fall into place at exactly the right time.

 

As I’ve continued to reflect on the May Retreat, I realized that sense of support never stopped.

 

In fact, it seemed to follow all of us throughout the entire experience.

 

At the end of June’s post, I drew the Akashic Symbol card of” Divine Grace” card from the Akashic Illumination Deck for all of us making this journey.

 

Looking back, that card could not have been more perfect.

 

Flights were on time.

 

Our train from Lisbon to the farm unfolded effortlessly.

 

What was originally a shared room unexpectedly became my private sanctuary where I could rest and recharge each evening.

 

A new work space was thoughtfully prepared for my Akashic sessions by the staff of the Farm – fittingly called the “Secret Garden” – created the perfect environment for my Akashic sessions.

 

That room was also the site of my most incredible manifestation experience. I’ll share that story with you in September because it’s worthy of a post of its own.

 

Again and again, people commented on the same phenomenon.

Whenever someone hoped to speak with a particular person, that person would often appear shortly afterward and be happy to connect.

 

It happened so frequently that many of us began laughing about it.

 

The more I reflected on these experiences, the more I noticed a pattern.

 

Most of us spend a great deal of energy trying to make things happen.

 

We plan.

 

We worry.

 

We prepare for every possible problem.

 

We try to control outcomes.

 

Yet some of the most meaningful moments of life arrive when we allow ourselves to receive what is already being offered.

 

The Akashic Records have taught me this lesson many times over the years. Portugal reminded me how easily I can forget.

 

Support doesn’t always arrive in dramatic ways.

 

Sometimes it appears as the perfect room. 

 

 

A timely conversation.

 

An unexpected opportunity.

 

The right person showing up at the right moment.

 

A challenge that resolves more easily than expected.

 

Or simply the quiet feeling that you are not carrying everything alone.

When I’m constantly focused on pushing forward, I can miss the many ways life is already supporting me.

 

When I slow down and pay attention, I begin to see how often Divine Grace is quietly at work behind the scenes.

 

Does that mean everything always unfolds exactly as I want?

 

Of course not.

 

And I’ve noticed that when I release some of the need to control every detail and become more willing to receive, life often becomes far more cooperative than I imagined.

 

Portugal reminded me of something I hope I never forget:

 

The universe is not working against us. More often than not, it is trying to help us.

 

Our job is to notice.

 

So I’m curious:
